I am sad to hear of Bob’s passing. I enjoyed working with him and learnt a lot from him. I’m heartened by the fact that he used his retirement well, travelling extensively and enjoying new experiences Deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Bob for over ten years. He became my principal at St. Mark Junior High in 2007; in 2012 he retired early, and moved to St. Joseph High School for a final year as assistant Principal. I followed him there.

Bob was always very interested in his work, wherever it took him, and in how things / work / health / life-in-general were proceeding for those around him. He was deeply committed to doing his best, building a tangible community for all of us, and encouraging us to seek our fullest potential, even in the smallest chores. He wanted good outcomes for his students, for his staff, and for his friends. I have not met a harder working man.

His community building efforts continued after retirement. He had found a doctor who helped improve his health; and he was excited about all that he could do to help her expand her successes, and also about all that is possible in life when you simply feel good. Although travelling extensively, he always managed to find time for a “clink and drink” with former work pals when he’d return home. Missing the classroom, he kept doing the substitute teaching as well, whenever back in Edmonton.

Bob knew how to be a friend. I will miss him dearly.

I offer my deepest condolences to his family.

As a young teacher with Edmonton Catholic schools, Bob was kind and supportive. He always had a smile on his face and had positive words to say. I am grateful for him for supporting me in my journey. Condolences to his family and friends. May he Rest In Peace.
