Falconer Obit Photo

It is with profound sadness that the family of Paul Robert Falconer announce his peaceful passing on Monday October 5, 2020 at the age of 66 years after a short battle with cancer.

Paul was predeceased by his father and mother, James Q. Falconer and Eileen I. Falconer.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Ashleigh Snow-Askew; brother James Falconer (Dawn Jorgenson); sister Janette Stenhouse (Joseph Stenhouse); as well as numerous other family members (granddaughters, nieces, nephews, Aunt/Uncle, cousins) and friends.

Paul was born in Atikokan, Ontario. His family moved to Fort Frances, Ontario when Paul was 10 years old. Paul was very young when he met an Artist at his local Church who taught him how to paint using squashed up pieces of toilet paper as a paint brush. He was fascinated with the technique and from there he evolved & it became his passion to paint landscape pictures for his family & friends.

A private Memorial Service will be held at the family’s request at a later date due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Paul Robert Falconer’s name to Canadian Cancer Society.

I am sorry for your loss I seem to remember paul and his sister janey when I was a little guy I think they lived two doors down from us ( the rude’s on scott street. And reading this I wonder if the artist whom he gathered some skills from was a guy I recall at the church whose name was Van Husen ?? Anyway all that aside I offer my sincere condolences as he was a young man !! God bless you all.

I met Janette and Paul when she became a new classmate once they moved to Fort – becoming lifelong friends. Paul’s artistic abilities have been mentioned. It was always fun to see his landscapes on display on FFHS walls, having viewed the process firsthand.
Sending fond memories and heartfelt sympathy.

I worked with Paul and we became friends as well we were car enthusiasts. Unfortunately as time goes on we tend to lose contact with our friends. I’m sorry for your loss and want to extend my condolences.

I met Paul at floor curling in Morinville 🥌 He was a bit competitive and serious about the game yet we two hit it off right away 😉 He gifted me with 2 of his mountain landscape paintings and I cherish them more now than ever. I, like him, am in a battle with cancer and, sadly, our last conversation on the 29th mostly centred around that but I’m glad that we could encourage each other. Paul you are missed but you rest in peace , now and you are floor curling with my sister, your friend, Linda ✌️ 🥌 🙏
