It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Harsch of Edmonton, on July 5th 2025 at 81 years old.
Gladys is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Rob Harsch and Jason Freeman; one granddaughter, Heather (Byron); great-grandchildren, Kali, Adria and Josh; brothers, John, Terry (Cheryl) and Dwight (Charlotte); numerous nieces and nephews; many good friends and one snooty cat.
Gladys worked in the service industry in Edmonton and Nisku for many years amassing a wide variety of friends. She was well known for her generous heart and sharp wit. There was never a doubt where you stood in her esteem. Gladys’ home was always open, offering good food, company and a place to stay when needed. She carried herself with strength and dignity throughout her life and will be truly missed.
Sincere thanks to the staff at both the Grey Nuns and St. Joseph Auxiliary Hospital for the care and kindness they showed Gladys in the past few months.
There will be no funeral at Gladys’ request. A private memorial with family only will take place at a later date.

Billiejean Lazell says
Gladys was my Alberta mom.
She was more of a mother to me than my own mom.
She made an impression also on my cat. Lola loved her dearly.
I loved being around her.
I cherished and loved her more than worlds can say, and I let her know that often through out the years.
She’s on my mind every single day. And I’m still shedding tears each day, because my memories of her drown my mind .
Carol Keller says
There aren’t enough words to tell you how much Gladys meant to me. She was always there when I needed an ear or some comfort. She was so kind and generous. We could finish each other’s sentences we had such a close bond. It has been my honor and privilege to have had such a wonderful friend. I will never forget her. I miss her every single day. Love you dear friend.
