With profound sadness we announce the passing of Patricia Thompson, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Pat was born on July 24, 1935, in Mountain Park, Alberta and transitioned out of this life peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Gerald Mitchell (father of her children) in 1967 and husband Dean James Thompson in 1994, as well as by her youngest son, Ronald Gerald Thompson on July 5, 2025.
She is survived by her four children, Glenn, Lynda (Dale), Shannon (Bruce) and Sandi (Jeff), seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and numerous family and friends who will sadly miss her and be forever remembered.
Through her journey of 90 years, she touched many lives with her boundless energy, unwavering spirit of perseverance, wisdom, and a generosity that knew no bounds. Pat whose warmth, creativity and love for life touched everyone who knew her, possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. She had a brilliant mind, a disarming wit about her, had an empathetic heart, and was an inspiration to her community, from all the years of volunteering at various organizations and venues.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories and instilled in her children and grandchildren, to live life to its fullest. We will cherish the memories we shared, the life’s lessons she taught us, and honor her legacy, forever.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Millwoods Senior Centre, located at 2610 Hewes Way NW Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a favourite charity in Pat’s memory.
