Douglas Zaraska

Douglas was born on December 4, 1971, in Grand Forks, BC. Douglas passed away
peacefully in his sleep on August 11, 2025.

He leaves to mourn his passing his loving parents, John and Mavis Zaraska of
Bonnyville, Alberta (previously of Elk Point, Alberta); his son, Johnathon Zaraska of
Bonnyville, Alberta; daughter, Stephanie Zaraska (Steven Thompson) of St Paul, Alberta;
sisters, Penny Zaraska (Jamie Pruden) of Bonnyville, Alberta, and Dana Beaudin (John
Beaudin) of St Paul, Alberta. Doug was survived by 1 great-aunt, 6 aunts, 5 nieces, 1
nephew, 2 great-nieces, and 3 great-nephews, as well as many cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reese and Claudia McGinnis of Elk
Point, Alberta, and Walter and Dorothy Zaraska of Northern Valley, Alberta; and sister,
Carrie Ann Zaraska of Lethbridge, Alberta.

Doug was a master of many talents, excelling in every job opportunity that he had. He
was a skilled cement finisher and jack of all trades. He had a wide circle of friends,
although he liked to keep to himself a lot. He enjoyed fishing and biking. He liked to
wheel and deal and collect things. He loved his family very much, but in the words of
Stephanie, “we love you more” Doug. 

At the young age of 53, Doug’s passing came as a shock to his friends and family. A
private family gathering will be held to honour his life at a later date. 

Doug’s family thanks everyone for the love and support that has been extended to them
during this difficult time.
