It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce (Lockwood) Woodhouse on December 30th, 2025, at 95 years of age. A true gentleman and a lifelong kid at heart, he was still trying to get a laugh out of everyone right until the end.
Born in Edmonton on February 24th, 1930, to Ralph & Natalie Woodhouse, Bruce grew up an only child but delighted in becoming part of a large and boisterous family upon marrying his beloved Carol Huddleston (who predeceased him in 2022). Bruce & Carol were married in 1956, raising three lucky kids in the house he built in Parkview, where they lived for over 60 years. They eventually moved to Canterbury Manor and finally to Touchmark Memory Care, where Bruce became a favorite of the friendly, caring staff.
A clever and talented craftsman, Bruce worked as a millwork estimator and was a past president of the Edmonton Millwork Association. He was active in Cub Scouts and St. Andrew’s Church, where, for many years, he was part of the ‘Boiler Room Boys’ who handled much of the Church’s maintenance needs. Also a gifted piano player, Bruce could play any song by just listening to it.
Bruce & Carol loved to travel the world with their group of close friends, providing many wonderful experiences and fond memories – often reminisced over Friday coffee gatherings.
Adored by his grandchildren, ‘Gramps Bruce’ became a big kid when around them playing games, Hotwheels and never missing a chance to make them laugh.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered by sons David (Patricia) and Stuart (Shana), daughter Sheelah, grandchildren Lucas, Nigel, Olivia, Ryan, and Kurtis, as well as many dear friends and relatives.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to St. Andrew’s United Church Memorial Fund.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 7th, at St. Andrew’s United Church (9915-148 St NW, Edmonton, AB).

I well remember both your Mum and Dad – a very lovely couple.
My grandmother was Carrie Huddleston, who married Thomas Johnston, and my Mum, Orma, was their only daughter. They also had four sons, and Barrie, Ontario, was their home.
I have seen photos of your Mum in an old photo album that my mother kept before she married my Dad, John August.
May Bruce rest in peace – a very dear man, indeed.

I have many fond memories of Bruce and Carol while growing up with Dave. Always warm cookies and an interesting story. Always invited into the house. Meals were very good and much appreciated. Bruce will be missed and in memories of all for a long time.
