Mckeil, Charles Murray November 1, 1958 to November 26, 2020

It is with great sadness that after a very courageous 6 year battle with cancer the family of Charles (Charlie) Mckeil announce that he passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2020 at the age of 62. Charlie was predeceased by both parents Alvin and Alice (Price) Mckeil.

He will be forever remembered by his spouse and best friend of 21 years Adele Aultman, his son Alexander Mckeil of Camrose AB, brothers Dan (Darla) Mckeil of Grande Prairie, Timothy Mckeil of Grande Prairie, Gordon Mckeil of Campbellton NB, Uncle Richard Price of Edmonton AB and nieces Amber Mckeil and Heather Mckeil of Grande Prairie, Leah Bidney and Stacy Price of Edmonton AB and their families as well as numerous cousins throughout the maritimes.

Born in Campbellton NB, Charlie followed his brother Dan to Alberta in 1978 and apprenticed at NAIT obtaining his Red Seal certification to become a licensed partsman. Charlie worked for numerous Ford dealerships over the years ending his long career at Sherwood Ford where he has worked since 2012.

Charlie spent his years perfecting his golf game, socializing around his fire pit with family, friends and neighbors and travelling to warm tropical climates as often as possible with Adele.  In the last few years he discovered a talent and love for woodworking that kept him busy in his garage.  Charlie had a wonderful (if sometimes inappropriate) sense of humour and warm laugh that will be missed by all who knew him.

Charlie’s family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for their wonderful care and compassion throughout his cancer journey.

At Charlie’s request there will be no service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute of Edmonton (online at www.albertacancer.ca or to 11560 University Ave,  Edmonton AB T6G 1Z2)

My deepest sympathies Adele, Alex, Dan, Tim and all family and friends. Charlie and I grew up together and spent a lot of time together as kids. We were cousins as well as friends. Even back then, his sense of humour was second to none. I know he’ll be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Adele In this time of sorrow, words often feel inadequate to express the depth of your loss. Please know that my thoughts are with you as you navigate this difficult path. The memory of your loved one will remain a light in the hearts of all who knew him and along with his kindness, warmth, humour, and spirit will never be forgotten.
May you find comfort in cherished memories and the support of those who deeply care for you. If there is anything I can do to help ease your burden, please do not hesitate to reach out. I wish you strength and peace as you celebrate a life well-lived, but left you alone to soon.
    With deepest sympathy
