Constance ‘Connie’ Loraine Vavrek nee Hamilton resident of Sexsmith, Alberta passed away on Tuesday January 18, 2022 at the Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton, at the age of 66 years.

Connie was born in Daysland, Alberta on January 30, 1956 and raised on a family farm just a few minutes outside of Daysland with her parents and siblings. Connie moved to Sexsmith with her husband, Larry in 1975 and raised a family with four children on a farm down the Emerson Trail.

Connie was honest and real and always spoke with great excitement. She always had time for a quick chat in the grocery store or at the post office. Connie loved her grandchildren, the kids on her school bus, a good book, and reminiscing about local history.

Connie will be sadly missed by her children, Warren (Angela), Carla (Kevin), and Greg (Ashley); husband, Larry; siblings, Terry (Ellie), Colleen (Art), and Diane; parents, Lorne and Jean; and grandchildren, Liam, Ciaran, Noelle, Kiara, Kaylee, and Aiya-Lynn.

Connie was pre-deceased by her brother, Brian; grandmother, Ellen; and daughter Andrea.

Funerial and internment to take place at Webster in June. Arrangement details to follow later.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Andrea Vavrek Bonspiel 4 Hope by sending a check or money order to the address below:

I’m so sorry for your loss. Connie was my co-worker for 10 years. We came from the same world on how to raise kids and expectations. We often would laugh about how, kids these days just don’t want to listen. She was a straight shooter when it came to saying things how they were. She is gone to soon, and will be missed.

The world is noticeably emptier now. What a shocker. This is so sad. I wish that condolences helped more or even at all, but that is the best there is now. Our deepest condolences.
