Sadly, we must announce the passing of Daniel Kozowy at the age of 61 on March 5, 2025.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Bonnie of 37 years and their son Mitch. He will forever be in their hearts and minds.
He leaves behind a multitude of family who loved him, especially his mother Anne and his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. He was also beloved by Bonnie’s family, who loved him as a brother, uncle, and grand uncle.
He will be missed by his many dear friends and the people whose lives he touched, enriched and brought caring and love to.
Dan lived his life his own way, and told it the way he felt. He had a magnetic charisma that could charm anyone, even in a single short conversation. Dan embraced life, loved to joke, laugh, and fool around with family and friends.
Dan loved to fish with his father Steve, brothers Gerry and Ed, and Bonnie and Mitch. It would be remiss to forget about his fishing buddies, Darcy and John.
Dan loved his home, and being in his yard, garage, and the garden filled with fresh flowers and produce. He helped build a greenhouse in the yard that would hold peppers and even tried to grow melons. He would also spend his time helping fix up various things, whether it be his own or someone in the neighbourhood.
Helping others came naturally to Dan, whether it was physically being there to help, or motivationally. He was always there to listen and help anyone who needed it.
Dan worked hard all his life and looked forward to retirement; camping, fishing, sitting by the fire and still helping others. He was a good husband, father, brother, brother in law, uncle, and friend.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pilgrim’s Hospice which took care of him in his final week and allowed him to pass with dignity.
