Elaine Belle Duncan

Elaine Duncan passed into history as of July 27, 2023. Her passing at 65 years of age was unexpected and unfortunately due to complications from a recent surgery.

She is survived by her mother, Viola; her two brothers, Randy (Helen) and Lance; her two daughters, Erin (Bolivar) Guardado and Christina Duncan; and her four grandsons, Bolivar Jr., Sandro, Colton, and Keegan. Elaine was also very interested in extended family connections and would have wanted to acknowledge that she was also survived by her two nephews, Nathan (Erin) Duncan and Richard (Lindsay) Rothenburger; her two nieces, Tanna Duncan and Teri (Brad) Neufeld; and that she was a Great Aunt to Gavin, Aidan, Emily, Abby, Jen, Damion, and Declan. She was predeceased by her father, Charles (Chuck); and her husband, Gary Lidke.

Elaine had always stayed connected to the Calder neighborhood in Edmonton, along with the many family members and friends who resided there, and she affectionately referred to them as the Calder Gang. She was also the glue that kept a lot of the extended Duncan and McGillivray family members connected, and this keen interest in family history led her to make genealogy research on these two lineages, along with all the other married-in lines, her life’s ongoing work.

Cremation will be through Capital City Cremation in Edmonton and a gathering of family and friends is planned for Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Calder Centre.
