It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Victor Ball of Edmonton. Gary passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the age of 80 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Barbara; two sons, Todd (Cathy) and Kyle (Jamal); two daughters, Bonnie (Alan) and Candice (Marc); two grandchildren, Seth and Lara; his sister Bonnie (Scott); three nieces, one nephew, as well as many cousins and friends. Gary was predeceased by his parents Victor and Evelyn and his sister Joan and brother-in-law Ken.
Gary worked for AGT and then Telus for thirty-seven years and was a member of Kinsmen for many years. Gary was an early riser and appreciated the solitude with his coffee, newspaper, and daily crossword puzzle. Gary enjoyed watching hockey, golf, and curling on TV. He spent many summer hours tending the flowers and vegetables on the deck and delighted in the birds that lived in the birdhouse that he built with his children many years ago. He loved golfing, walking, and taking pictures of nature.
In honour of his wishes no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for the passing of Gary Ball. I have been a lifelong friend of Bonnie’s and have fond memories of Gary. Bonnie and I went to school together starting from grade 1, grew up together in Fort Saskatchewan, and shared in extra curricular activities. I have childhood memories of Gary with a great sense of humour and a contagious smile. Sending strength and support to the Ball family during this difficult time.

Dear Barb and family,
I am saddened to hear the sudden loss of Gary.
Gary and I were co- workers with AGT/TELUS. We spent many years working together on many different projects over the years. We remained good friends after our retirement.
We always stayed in touch, enjoying many rounds of golf at different golf courses. Our favourite was Pineridge golf course at Seba Beach.
I will dearly miss our frequent conversations .
Please accept our condolences as you deal with the difficult days ahead.
Lyle, and Carolyn McDonald
