It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ivan Raye Bridgewater announce his peaceful passing at home, on Thursday October 8, 2020, at the age of 93 years.
Ivan was predeceased by his father and mother, Percy and Myrtle Bridgewater; brothers, Glen Bridgewater and Roy Bridgewater; and daughter, Cindy Savoie.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Della Bridgewater; son Ray Bridgewater (Jollean); daughter Mitzi Gerber (Dennis); and son-in-law Roger Savoie.
Ivan, fondly know as PAPA by his 7 grandchildren, Allana Goodwin (Laine), Darren Bridgewater (Kori-Anne), Michael Gerber (Angela), Jessica Hewitt (Bob), Danielle Buxton (Sheldon), Nicole Gerber, Kyla Savoie (Graham Ternes); and 10 great grandchildren, Carter and Zachary Goodwin, Callie and Oliver Bridgewater, William and Thomas Hewitt, Aydria, Lake and Kina Gerber, and Cassandra Buxton.
Ivan was born in Brownlee, Saskatchewan on June 15, 1927. He married Della Goodale on December 29, 1956. They lived most of their married life in (Beverly), Edmonton Alberta.
Ivan worked at Stelco, now Alta Steel, from 1955 until he retired in 1988.
The family has chosen to celebrate Ivan’s life at home with immediate family due to COVID-19.

Cremation has taken place at Capital City Cremation in Edmonton.

We are so very sorry to hear of Papa’s passing. He was such a kind and gentle human being. We were so blessed to know him. While he had a long life, our hearts break for Della and the entire family.
