It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Wagg of Darwell, Alberta, on July 7th, 2025 at the age of 71. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie; children, Christine Siegel (Christopher), Kevin Wagg (Heather), Jennifer Benz (Christopher), Jordan Benz (Shana), and Christopher Howard (Natalie); siblings, Ken Wagg (Myriam), and Bob Wagg (Juanita); and ten grandchildren. Jim was a loving husband, father, papa, and friend to all. He was happiest when fishing with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Anyone who has gone fishing for walleye would have likely used one of his jigs, as he was founder of Jim’s Jigs and Tackle Ltd. Jim will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Sincere thanks to the staff at the Sturgeon Community Hospital for the care and kindness they showed Jim.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Jim on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1pm at the Onoway Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society can be made.
