It is with great sadness that the family of Ken Bryant announce his recent passing at the age of 70 years of age.
He grew up in the Queen Mary Park neighbourhood attending the elementary school, then McDougall Junior High, and Victoria Composite High School. He followed his father, John Bryant into the trades, joining the Ironworkers Local 720 around the age of 17. Working on many major construction projects from Commonwealth Stadium, to the Scotia Place Towers, and at Syncrude in Fort McMurray, he will be remembered for his pride in his profession, and the commitment he gave to his union brothers and sisters.
In the last decade Ken suffered with some severe health issues, all of them life-threatening on their own, but their cumulative effect took a great toll on his health. It isolated him in many ways from family and friends. He never married.
At this time there are no plans for a public funeral or celebration of life. It will likely be private as per his wishes the last time he spoke of it. A place will be chosen to scatter his ashes. To honour him, please consider donating to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, as it was a regular recipient of his donations.
Predeceased by his father John in 1986, mother Bertha in 2004, and sister Pat in 2017; he is survived by his older brothers Michael Bryant (Janet), Dave Bryant (Gina), sisters Sylvia Smith, (Trevor) and Kathryn Mulberry (Ray), and numerous nieces and nephews.

My heart goes out to the family of Ken. He was a true friend of mine in high school and we even drove my new van down to California just for the hell of it. After high school we unfortunately went our own ways as most do, but for some reason I often thought of him. The fun times we had. I wish I would have called him at some point during the years just to see how he was.
For Dave and the rest of his extended family, keep healthy and enjoy life as sometimes it is far to short.
