Linda Marie (Baxter) Bennett passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on the evening of March 23, 2024, at her home in Parkland County, Alberta, Canada. She had been battling cancer for three and a half years and finally succumbed to it.

On the 22nd of September 1952, Linda Marie was born to parents, Carl and Elizabeth Baxter, at Brooks, Alberta. She was the youngest sister of Bryan (Hazel), Beverley (Art), and Carol. When Linda was only 11 years old her mother “graduated” from this mortal life.  With the forthcoming marriage of her father to Wanda (Anderson) Brandle, Linda gained many stepsisters – Helen, Fay, Mary Anne, Lynne, Wilma, Diana and Orla.  Our mother has ALWAYS valued FAMILY and instilled in us that these ladies and their families were ALL our Aunts and Uncles – one BIG FAMILY!  Mom was all about Family.

Linda grew up in southern Alberta and in 1971, married our amazing father Garth Clyde Bennett.  They had 5 of us, all now married – TeLeni (Kevin), Randall (Angie), Tyler (Amy), Shari (Jeremy) and Christy (David).  We helped her family grow by adding 19 grandchildren.  She just had a way of making everyone family, including our friends. Her door was always open, and her heart was big enough for ALL.

Mom served others her whole life and added many credentials to her accomplishments.  These credentials are much bigger and more important than the ones that society offers.  She has “graduated” from this mortal life to the next and has done it with a “Masters” and full “Honours” in living a loving and Christian life.  The greatest legacy that stays with us is her love and the BIGGEST FAMILY EVER, that her love created.

Our mom would say: RYS (Remember You’re Special).
And we would answer: RYST (Remember You’re Special Too).

If you wish to, our preference is rather than sending flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society.
