It is with deep sorrow, but so many loving memories, and after recently celebrating his 87th birthday, that we share the news of our dad, Steve’s (Marcel) passing on April 28, 2021 after a prolonged bout with pneumonia. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his 4 children: Charlene (Perry) Hennig, Lyle (Josie) Letawsky, Bernadine (Patrick) Clyne, Laurie (Tony) Freund; 6 grandchildren: Briony, Trent, Colton, Callie, Mackenzie and Ayden; 1 great grandchild: Finnlay; brothers: William (Joanne) Letawsky; Archie (Marian) Melnyk, Gary (Maureen) Melnyk; sisters: Mary Stodola, Audrey Alenic, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey, of 58 years; parents Stephan and Stella; and 4 brothers.
A special thank you to Dr. Elizabeth Pungar Farrell for the home visits and immense care over the years. Also to all the palliative/home care nurses at Alberta Health Services and Lyle and Josie Letawsky for making our dad’s final days at home as comfortable as possible.
Due to Covid 19, memorial service gatherings are limited and will be invite only at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Hospice Palliative Care Association at ahpca.ca.
Cremation has taken place at Capital City Cremation in Edmonton, Alberta.
