It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of Peter Arla Horn, known to his family and friends as Arla, at the age of 71. Arla passed away peacefully in the Comfort Care Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, following many years of health challenges.
Before welcoming their children, he and Paula were avid squash and racquetball players. As their family grew, he enjoyed golfing and playing hockey with Drew and supporting Ashley’s love of horses. He was always there for his children, never missing a game and taking pride in their pursuits. His steady presence and unwavering support will be among the memories they treasure most.
Arla will also be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humour, and perfectly timed sarcasm. His humour and the moments shared with him will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who loved him.
Arla will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Paula; his son, Drew, and daughter-in-law, Taylor, and their children, Wesley and Madilynn; his daughter, Ashley, and her partner, Cody, and their son, Carter; and his brother, Joe.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Arla’s life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada.
