In loving memory of Ronald Gerald Thompson, who unexpectantly passed away on July 5, 2025, in Edmonton Alberta. Born on October 26, 1962, to parents Patricia Agnes Thompson (1935-2025) and Edward Gerald Mitchell (1932-1967), he is survived by his siblings, Glenn, Lynda, Shannon and Sandi, several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous family members.
Ron, a gentle man with a heart of gold, will be known for his wit and sense of humor, his ability to accomplish any task given to him, his love of music, but most of all, he will be remembered for his devotion and dedication in caring for his mother, right up until his passing.
In his early 30’s, Ron unfortunately started to lose his vision and eventually became legally blind, due to an inherited condition known as Retinitis Pigmentosa. Prior to his disability, he was employed as an Electronic Technician and had a love for anything that had transistors, diodes or integrated circuits. If it was broken, he could fix it, even with the loss of his vision.
His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Please join us in celebrating Ron’s life on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Millwoods Senior Centre, located at 2610 Hewes Way NW Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
