
It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Eleanor Martin (Romeo) announce her passing on July 27, 2025 after a courageous battle with Cancer surrounded by family. Ruth was born in Westlock, Alberta on April 30,1946 to Jim & Mable Romeo. She is survived by her four children; Vernon (Sharon) Martin, Lorne (Brenda) Martin, Verona Martin (Shane Trudgian) & Tammy (Roy) Vossler. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd (Doreen) Romeo & her sister Rosemary Farnham. Her brothers in law, Norman Rossler, Richard (Jan) Bengry, Tom (Betty) Cole , her sisters in law Verlene (Ross) Carter & Brenda Gillett.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Martin & Granddaughter, Kayla Bailey. Her parents, Jim & Mabel Romeo, her brother’s Stanley Romeo & Douglas Romeo. Her sister Joyce Barclay & brother in law, George Barclay. Brother in law James Gillett. Also sister in law Louise Rossler.
Ruth is survived by her 7 Grandsons; Talin Ross, Ollie Neville, Kevin (Bianca) Martin, Corey Martin, Clark (Cher) Jamieson, Connor (Summer) Jamieson & Zach Vossler. Also 4 Granddaughters; Dawn (Al) Neville-Kidner, Robyn Neville, Kristina Martin & Brianna Vossler. Also 7 Great Grandchildren, Bailey, Dante, Brooklynn & Brielle Callihoo, Ava Neville-Bauer, Everily Jamieson & Autumn Dillon-Worshek. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends.
Those who knew her, knew that she was the heart of the family. She had enough love to include others who had no family. She always had a hot coffee or meal waiting for those who came to visit. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, bingo, puzzles & camping. No problem was too big that she wouldn’t be able to help find a solution. She gave from the heart & will be missed by many who had the fortune to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025 at Romeo Lake/Peavine Hall at 1:00 PM. 6517 Township Road 590, Lac St. Anne County. With Internment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery 3202 Township Road 594, Barrhead County where she will join her husband Jim in eternal rest.
