Born in Olds, Alberta, Chris grew up on the farm northeast of town, attending school at Betchton and Olds.

In 1950, she and a friend worked in Vancouver for awhile, then returned to Olds. In 1951 she went to work in Yellowknife, where she met Ric, who was coaching her ball team. They married Feb.14,1953, in Olds, and moved to Hanna, where Gary, Janice and Barbara were born. In 1957 they moved to Edmonton, eventually buying a home in Killarney, where Harley and Teal (Carolyn) were born. In 1964 they moved to West Meadowlark, and then to Primrose Gardens in 1976.
Chris worked at Zellers for a few years, and 1976 started in accounting for NWI at the Municipal airport, then at the International airport, where they became CAE., retiring in 1994.
Chris enjoyed curling, golf, cards, antiquing, horse races, and casinos. She enjoyed watching sports, and was an avid fan of the Oilers and Eskimos. Her family room was a bit of a shrine to both teams.
