It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Viola Grace Dixon on May 1, 2026, at the age of 100 1/2 years.
She is survived by her daughters Lyndel (Darcy) and Deena (Rob), and son Ewert (Mary) Johnson, her sister Merla Ridge, her sister-in-law Nina Smiley, her grandchildren Michelle (Steve) Antil, Jason Wilkinson, Cora Rye, and Kimberly (David) Babiy, great-grandchildren Victoria, Joshua, and Xyla.
She was predeceased by her husband Ed, her daughter Velen Johnson, son-in-law Brian Melin, grandson Cody Melin, brother Delbert Smiley, sisters Leatrice Wilson and Dolly Koehle, and her parents Elsie and Bill Smiley.
Viola enjoyed spending time with others and was known for her warm smile and friendly nature. Her storytelling, kindness, and perseverance will be remembered by many.
Her faith was important to her, and she was eager to share it with others, which she did for 73 years. Her hope was to live forever in a paradise on earth. She appreciated the association of her
congregation throughout her life, most recently in Ottewell.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to all who supported and cared for Viola throughout her years. We would like to especially thank the nursing staff at Capital Care Grandview – 2CD for the compassionate care of Mom during her stay there.

We truly loved Vi. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. We are so glad she isn’t suffering anymore. We will miss her and her stories about her exciting life, and her wonderful sense of humor. She loved Jehovah and we know Jehovah will awaken her in a new world free of suffering and old age. How we look forward to that time.
