Gloria passed much sooner than expected, but completely on her own terms, in hospital, due to Pulmonary Fibrosis and a bout with Covid last spring. A committed health and fitness enthusiast, Gloria faced her illness with her customary strength and tenacity. An extremely involved and loving Mom to Karen (Ken), Walter (aka Sonny), Dawn (Kelly) and Roland; and grandmother to Alexander, Mackenzie, Kristofer, Joshua, and Liam. It is with great sadness that the family of Mel Chapman shares of his passing on December 1, 2022. Mel passed peacefully while in the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 91. Audrey Kathleen Barnes left this earthly realm on November 22, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. She was 68 years old. It would be wrong to say that Audrey lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. Unexpectedly, but peacefully, Monty Fedele Nigro left this world on Thursday, November 17th, 2022. He was 74. Born to Betty and Monty Nigro, Monty junior affectionately known as Gint, was a loving and charismatic man. He is survived by his siblings, Brett, Janie, and Nance; as well as his son, Michael; daughter, Nicole; and granddaughter, Anouk. In keeping with Monty’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Monty will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace, free from pain and carried by our love.

On November 25, 2022, after battling cancer, Robert (Bob) William Blackwood passed away. He worked for several years as a chartered accountant, then worked at Fiberglass Canada/Owens Corning for 35 years until his retirement. After retiring, Bob became involved in race walking, competing in several marathons. He enjoyed his project of restoring his 1976 Thunderbird (nicknamed “Big Bird”) and attended numerous car shows throughout the years, chatting with everyone about everything!
