Taylor Austin McAuley

You are here: Obituaries / Taylor Austin McAuley
October 14, 2003 - January 16, 2024
Taylor Obit Pic

After a long, hard, and bravely fought battle with autoimmune hepatitis, it is with heavy hearts that we sadly announce the passing of Taylor – our son, grandson, brother, nephew and uncle.

Taylor is survived by his parents, Marney (Rob), Michael (Shauna); siblings, Chandler, Orianna, Cohen; special niece, Ezmae; maternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley; and paternal grandparents, Wendy and Bruce & Don and Jewell.

Taylor was always authentically himself, from child to adult – always having a sensitive side; quiet and thoughtful. Taylor opened up when he wanted to; when he did, we always knew it to be genuine. Taylor chose to share with each of us in different ways. Each of our relationships with Taylor were completely unique in their own way.

Taylor was taken from us at far too young of an age, but that definitely did not preclude him from having many experiences – going to Florida multiple times, accomplishing one stripe away from a black belt in Taekwondo, a high school trip to Montreal, some girlfriends along the way, a few best friends and pets which included Cassidy, his favorite kitty cat and Jase, the Labrador. Taylor nearly completed his second year at the University of Regina before falling ill, and aspired to continue his education in Edmonton when his health was better. He was of course the proudest motorcycle rider you would ever meet. Taylor absolutely adored his niece, Ezmae.

Taylor, we say “Ciao for now” to you as this will not be the last we see of you. Our comfort is knowing that he is in a better place and that his battle is over. His tenacity, strength, and perseverance through it all will always be admired. His smile will be forever missed and will forever be in our hearts.

A Celebration of Taylor’s life will take place on Friday, January 26th, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the ROC Church. 7808 Highway 6, South Service Road, Regina.

Every day individuals around the world are faced with the daunting reality of diseases, and for many the only hope lies in the generosity of others. Your willingness to consider becoming an organ donor can make an unparalleled impact on someone’s life, offering them the chance for a healthier and brighter future.

Please consider registering as an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, donations in Taylor’s name can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.

Taylor was born October 14, 2003. He shares his birthday with his father Michael. That makes him special. He attended preschool and elementary at Henry Janzen. Taylor graduated from Winston Knoll in 2021. He had 2 partime jobs. M n M Meats and Toys r Us. Taylor loved the University of Regina. He wanted to pursue a career in forensics. Had many trips to the Stollery in Edmonton. Once his cousin Reece came with us. They wanted to go to the Water Park at WEM. We didn’t realize they had to bring their own towels. They looked like 2 drowned rats when we picked them up. Taylor enjoyed camping at. Crooked lake, Canmore, Nakusp, Creston and Cranbrook. His favourite camping was at Glacier National Park, Montana. He loved paddle boarding near Whitefish. Memories of eating in a biker bar called the Packers Roost. Famous Dave’s Barbecue and of course Kristy Kreme doughnuts. After his graduation we had a gathering at The Keg. Elvis (Rory Allan) came and sang Blue Suede Shoes. Taylor bought blue suede shoes at WEM. Finally, Taylor put his email in my iPad as Grandma’s favourite Taylor. I signed my texts and emails as GM. He was quick to point out GM stood for General Manager. Love you forever. GM

To my precious cousin Taylor, or in many other forms ,tay, my twin cousin, childhood best friend, shitram(our fav inside joke nickname) and my grandpa’s favourite shorty. I’ll never forget the memories we had together growing up in the world. The laughs, the cry’s, from probably me getting us in trouble and the endless smiles we put on people faces. As not many know me and Taylor shared a special bond as cousins growing up due to the fact he was born a year and one day before me. Me and Taylor shared countless birthdays together, some may say it was just our moms trying to save money and so that we don’t have to eat cake and have a big family supper twice but in our eyes it was just another special day we got to share and cherish together . This past year I unfortunately wasn’t able to see Taylor during our birthdays but I still blew out a candle for him. We always shared that memory of blowing out the candles. Now each year that goes by I’ll always blow out that candle for you and in your name. You always put a smile on everyone’s face and you especially never failed that with me. Lastly I wanna share the countless people you inspired and made smile each day, since you’ve passed I’ve been flooded with texts and what not from so many people, people that I didn’t even know u had a bond with. Each one mentioned how you were such a kind human being that everyone liked you and they have never been so accurate, from elementary and high school friends saying they always see u in the hallways or making jokes in class, or even all the friends you met through playing video games, you touched many hearts. I’m gonna miss you, and many others too,I’ll see you on the flip side Taylor, Bye for now

My Heart and thoughts and prayers go out to Mike , Shauna and their family! We are heartbroken for them! Taylor was such a sweet sweet Soul, from a very early age! Always a kind smile on his face! When he was young I met him, I was in need of a place to stay , Taylor so graciously gave up his space to share with me , and he did it with kindness and smiles, to a complete stranger .
He just always had a big heart , and a caring , kind way about him! Mike and Shauna raised him with Love and Happiness and kindness, and he showed that and beamed that in life to everyone around him!
He will be forever loved, and forever missed! Big Hugs to you sweet Taylor❌❤️
    Marci and Hunter ❤️
