It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Hans De Jager on Oct 4th, 2023 after a very long battle with cancer. Hans was born on Jan 28th 1950 in Nederland and Immigrated to Canada with his family in April of 1952 aboard the S.S Waterman. The family eventually settled in the Lethbridge area where Hans could be found either helping him mom in the kitchen or playing in the fields with his brothers and sister on the family farm. On the morning of September 28th, Philip died peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. Prior to his admittance to hospital only two days earlier, he had had a full and independent life with his beloved Pierrette. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling stories, working on DIY projects, watching hockey, making bread, listening to audio books and getting in his daily walk of 5,000 steps.
