It is with profound sadness that the family of Mike Hamel announces his passing on September 3, at the age of 53 years. Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife of 18 years, Jen; son, Nathan; and youngest child, Ally. Mike is also missed by his son: Brandon (Robynne); grandson, Everett; brother, Jeffrey (Lorna); sister, Tracy (Kevin); mother, Rose; mother-in-law, Kathy; and father-in-law, Glen (Lynne); as well as Daniel (Ashley) and numerous relatives and friends. With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, Poppa and Great-Poppa, John Joseph Hickey on August 31, 2023. Complications from a stroke in 2020 finally overcame his fierce battle for recovery. He was born in Peterborough, Ontario on October 19, 1935, moved West as a young man and met and married Marilynn in Hinton, Alberta and raised a family there.
