Solvei ‘Chris’ Speelman of Touchmark at Wedgewood in Edmonton, has passed away peacefully at the age of 95. Born in Olds, Alberta, Chris grew up on the farm northeast of town, attending school at Betchton and Olds. Her first occupation was a Switchboard operator in Olds. In 1950, she and a friend worked in Vancouver for awhile, then returned to Olds. In 1951 she went to work in Yellowknife, where she met Ric, who was coaching her ball team. William ‘Bill’ Edward Saurette, aged 82, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 20, 1941, Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and easy ways. Bill is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann; his sons, Patrick (Doris) and Nathan; his stepchildren, Jeff and Janelle; and his cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Allie, Theodore, Ethan, Chloe, Roan, and Malcolm.
