It is with profound sadness that the family of Gail Marie Gerrard (née Churchill) announces her passing on March 14, 2025, at the age of 68 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Anita Grace and Colin Churchill; nephews, Charles and Ronald Leeking. Josémée Blackburn passed away peacefully on March 18th, at 10:20am, in Pilgrims Hospice in Edmonton, Alberta. At the age of 72, Josémée was taken far too early, and she will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. She leaves behind her husband Paul, her two sons Thomas and Daniel, her daughter-in-law Crystal, and her four (4) grand-fur-children: Walter, Teddy, Socks, and Dave. Sadly, we must announce the passing of Daniel Kozowy at the age of 61 on March 5, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his wife Bonnie of 37 years and their son Mitch. Velvet Evelyn Gales, 77, passed away on February 8, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta. Born in Strathclair, Manitoba, she was a loving and loyal mother. She found great joy in knitting, creating scarves, hats, and blankets that she often donated to those in need. Her kindness and creativity were evident in every stitch she made. Mom was born in 1936 in Zhoda, Manitoba, where she spent the first 5 years of her life surrounded by extended family, speaking only Ukrainian and one summer avoiding a particularly terrifying goose. She started school in Labroquerie where she was suddenly immersed in French, and finally learned English when she moved with her parents to Vancouver. She left home with a teaching certificate and a job in Fort St. John, it was there that she met her future husband Julian.
