On February 20th, 2024, Ruby Barry took her last breath. After a few difficult years, Ruby lost her last battle in the early morning hours at the U of A hospital. Ruby leaves behind her only child, her daughter, Laura Lee; three grandchildren, Katelyn (Tyler), Marcus, and Payton; as well as one great granddaughter, Addison. Irene June Mathers-Hughes (nee Veosovich) of Spruce Grove, Alberta, passed away at the age of 88 years on February 7, 2024, after a brief battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Irene was predeceased by her parents in 1974 and 2001; husband, David in 1994; brother, Ray in 1999; and husband, Al in 2022. Fran passed away on February 1st, 2024 after struggling from the effects of Dementia and Alzheimer’s for some time.   Fran was born in Coleman, Alberta on August 22, 1940 to Evelyn Baardseth (Mitchell) and George Derbyshire.  She was predeceased by her son, David Derbyshire; granddaughter, Kelsey Trefiak; and son in law, Wesley Trefiak.  She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Jake Matthiesen; sons, Michael (Deanna) Derbyshire and Jeff (Sandy) Matthiesen; and daughters, Michele Derbyshire and Crystel Trefiak.     She loved her grandchildren to the end with all her heart, Linda-Lee (Kevin), Ryan (Bree), Justin, Scott,… Read complete obituary here.
